Highlights

The PC was introduced in the fall of 1932 as a 1933 model (I believe Chrylser's first attempt to move to the now standard model year). A full redesign from the ground up, this car was equipped with a six cylinder motor to better compete with the Chevrolet six that had been in production since 1929 and with the recently introduced Ford V8.

Unfortunately, the PC was on a shorter wheel base than the successful PB (which was sold as the full sized car in the low priced field). Sales were disappointing. This lead to a crash effort to replace it leading to the introduction of the PCXX and PD models in the spring of 1933.

The engine itself was successful and variations of it saw service in Plymouth automobiles until 1959 and on military vehicles into the 1960s. From the first this engine had hardened exhaust valve seats and full pressure lubrication to all bearings and featured thin shell replacable bearing inserts.

The suspension was totally redesigned with a tubular front axle and “silent-U” spring shackles.

The PC had its radiator filler cap under the hood and a very pronounced slant to the radiator shell and hood louvers. The radiator shell was also chrome plated. The later PCXX and PD models reverted to an external radiator cap and a more vertical grill.

1933 is the last year that wood spoke wheels were available.
